Twice shortlisted for the RA Summer Exhibition for portrait work in oils and mixed media, since retiring to Spain Beryl has been exploring the life and landscape of her adopted country alongside accepting portrait commissions.

Her work is primarily representational in a modern impressionistic style with the occasional foray into abstract work and decorative pieces for interior design.

For more than 20 years she studied life drawing and painting from the life model under Piers Ottey at the Mill Studio in West Sussex.

She has had several solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in the UK.

Beryl does not adhere to any fixed style preferring the freedom to explore and experiment unconfined by commercial expectations. Her work is diverse in subject, media and execution.

Beryl now lives in the inspirational La Safor Mountains of Valencia.
